Just like other self-balancing vehicles, an electroboard moves thanks to a gyroscopic system with integrated software that balances the device while you are on it. There are sensors in the wheels that detect how far the user is leaning. This information is processed by the gyroscopes and related to the control unit. The farther the user is leaning, the faster the wheel motors are working to “catch up” to the user’s centre of gravity. This ingenious and simple mechanism allows you to control the device by shifting your weight.
Advantages of Riding an Electroboard
-
Ideal for urban areas – electroboards are suitable mainly for riding on even and hard surfaces with no obstacles, which means that they are suitable mainly for urban riding (or cycling paths). You can go shopping, visit a park or just goof around on the street.
-
Intuitive control – Even though riding an electroboard may seem frightening, there is not really much to it. Even a complete beginner will quickly learn how to control it. The device automatically reacts to your movement. All you need is a bit of practice and you’ll be ready to ride around without a problem.
-
Balance improvement – While on an electroboard, your centre of gravity shifts constantly, and you need to be alert and immediately react to any changes in balance. This allows you to engage deep muscles that are usually very difficult to exercise and improve your coordination and balance.
-
Portable – In case the electroboard’s battery is depleted or you don’t want to ride it anymore, you can carry it in hand or pack it into a bag or a backpack.
-
Rechargeable – Once the electroboard is out of battery, all you need to do is connect the charger. In about two hours, you can head out again.
-
Eco-friendly – Riding on these electric vehicles is not just fun, it’s ecological as well! When you travel in beautiful scenery, you can remind yourself that by buying a self-driving electric vehicle, you contributed to the protection of the nature all around you.
-
Safety features – All our electroboards feature LED lights for better visibility and sturdy mudguards that will protect you against flying gravel or splashing water.
-
Low maintenance requirements – Electroboards don’t require much maintenance. All you need to do regularly is to check the battery.
How to Choose an Electroboard?
There are several factors to consider when picking out an electroboard. What matters the most is who is using it and for what purpose. Then it’s good to consider the range of the vehicle, its maximum speed, wheel size and other features.
Who will use the electroboard?
Electroboards are capable of developing a fairly high speed so if you are picking one out for a younger child, definitely go for a model with lower maximum speed. We offer several children’s B2 models with shorter deck and narrower wheels. For adults and teenagers, it is of course better to pick one of the more powerful electroboards with maximum speed up to 12 km/h. You should also be aware of the weight limits of individual models. Most have weight limit over 100 kg.
Warning: Minimum user weight is 20 kg.
Where do you want to go?
Electroboards can vary in their use. You can ride through a city, visit a park, use a cycling path or travel across spacious factory areas. In connection to this, you should consider wheel size. Most of our models have the largest 10" wheels. This type of wheels is also best if you want to ride on slightly uneven paths. However, if you know that you’ll only use your electroboard on flat surfaces, you can pick one with smaller wheels. Their advantage is that they are more suitable for performing various stunts.
Haw far will you travel?
An electroboard is powered by a rechargeable battery and so its range depends mainly on its capacity. At the same time, other factors should be taken into account – user’s weight and the terrain you will travel on. If the user’s weight is low, the battery isn’t strained as much and the vehicle is able to overcome larger distances. You’ll travel even farther if you ride on a hard and flat surface with no obstacles in your path. If you decide to ride uphill or on an uneven surface, the electroboard’s range will be shorter. Most models have the average range of 20 km; however, some might make up to 40 km. (the average range of children’s electroboards is around 15 km, but they can reach up to 20 km.) Both the average and the maximum range can be always found in the product description.
How fast do you dare to go?
Even though it may not be apparent at first sight, electroboards can be very fast. The most powerful models have maximum speed of up to 12 km/h. For safety reasons, the maximum speed of children’s electroboards is lower. It is important to observe the given speed limit. If you exceed the device’s maximum speed, the electroboard will stop or force you to slow down some other way. You must be careful then, so you don’t fall off.
Are there any accessories available?
Riding an electroboard is in itself an exciting experience. If you become a staunch electroboard enthusiast and will look for something extra, we’ve got Funcart seats just for you!
