Since you work out sitting down, you reduce the pressure on your knees, while being able to concentrate on the contraction and strength of the calf muscle. The bench allows you to do seated calf raises with an added weight (50-mm weight plates). However, it’s also ideal for calf raises with a shorter range of motion with an emphasis on peak contraction or, conversely, slow, eccentric phases for maximum control. Whether you’re looking to improve your explosiveness, stability or aesthetics, your legs will thank you.
