Description

The Water Filtration System Sawyer SP128 Mini is the lightest and smallest water filtration system in the world. The filter contains a high number of tiny ‘U’ shaped hollow fiber micro-tubes certified for 0.1 micron filtration, meaning there is no pore size larger than 0.1 micron in size. Thanks to its light weight (37 g) and the fact that it can be twisted to collapse down to a small size when empty, it will take up almost no space in your backpack. Made in the U.S.A., the Water Filtration System Sawyer SP128 Mini is extremely easy to hold and ready for use in no time.

The PointONE™ technology offers 0.1 micron absolute filtration and removes 99.99999% of all bacteria, such as salmonella, cholera, leptospirosis, and E. coli, 99.9999% of all protozoa (such as giardia and cryptosporidium), and 100% of microplastics, exceeding the strict U.S. safety standards (EPA and NSF).

Moreover, water filtered through the Sawyer SP2129 filter also meets the Czech and E.U. drinking water standards – SOP 06.0.52, ČSN EN ISO 9308-1 and SOP 06.0.3, ČSN EN ISO 6222. It also meets the following E.U. standards: 2008/60/EC, 95/45/EC and 2008/84/EC.

Use:

Fill the bottle/pouch up from the lake, stream or river, screw the filter onto it and:

  • Squeeze the bottle and filter the water while pouring it into another bottle
  • Drink directly from the filter – the filter comes with an on/off mouthpiece (similar to that on cycling bottles)
  • Attach the filter to any bottle with a screw top and filter the water while pouring it into it
  • Attach the filter to a hydration pack and drink the water from it

Kit includes:

  • 0.5L stash bottle
  • Sawyer SP2129 PointONE™ filter with a sports mouthpiece that can be attached to any bottle
  • Cleaning syringe
  • Drinking straw

Filter advantages:

  • Lightweight and easy-to-store (approx. 37 g)
  • Features hollow fiber micro-tubes which are smaller and thus more effective than other filters
  • Does not contain any moving parts that could get broken
  • Does not require pumping
  • Does not use chemicals which would affect the taste of water
  • Higher flow rate than other filters (1.2-1.5 L/min.)
  • Can be used almost indefinitely – you can clean the filter using the included syringe, restoring up to 98.5% of the filter’s flow rate
  • Allows you to fill up the bottle at any water source and start sipping on clean water from the straw
  • A perfect water storage solution, this bottle is collapsible, not taking up as much space in your backpack as a plastic bottle.
  • You can also buy additional, various-sized filtration bottles

Note: After filtration, the filter must not freeze as it would damage the porous membrane (applies to all porous filters). When used in cold weather, carry the filter, for instance, in your breast pocket (given its small size, it will not be a problem) until it has dried completely. The filter does not remove chemicals and heavy metals – stay away from large rivers which may be contaminated.
